About
Digitain's story dates back to 1999. At that time company started off as a National Lottery, then grew into a B2C Affiliate company becoming a software, platform, and Sportsbook solutions provider in 2004.
Now, Digitain is the leading provider of Omni-channel iGaming software solutions to the online, mobile, and land-based verticals. The multi-channel Digitain Gaming Platform allows operators to plug-in sportsbooks, casinos, live dealers, and virtual sports modules, and includes an integrated payment gateway, bonus engine, CRM system, and dedicated customer support.
Monthly, the sportsbook product covers 35,000 live events each month across 65 sports taking in 7,500 leagues, and more than 3,000 betting markets, while the casino solution has 3,000+ games.
The challenge
As a software company that also has an affiliated B2C counterpart, Digitain has a never-ending need for talent in various spheres. They are one of the unspoken leaders in the numerous vacancies open simultaneously in a whole region of markets.
Due to the organization's effective employer branding campaign in recent years, Digitain has been a popular choice for many job-seekers looking to join the booming tech industry.
One such popular opportunity is the Customer Support Specialist position, which was chosen to be the first pilot case to use Cauldron. The problem was simple — an all-year open job position with hundreds of applications each week and a multi-stage screening process that involved an on-site test and a follow-up interview that needed optimizing.
The solution
Anna, the newly assigned Chief People, and Culture Officer mentioned at our first encounter that they're already hard at work implementing a complex and featureful HR software and she was personally invested in online screening and testing automation.
The fact that we had already thought out a specialized platform that promises to save 90% of their current screening time resulted in an easy sell. We started working on the pilot a few days later.
Results
Our first steps were to recognize how the application pipeline would look like with Cauldron versus how it was then. The biggest time-sink we saw was the on-site assessment, which Cauldron not only could move completely online, but position it in the very first stage of the application process.
Pre-screening
All candidates are required to complete an Assessment form, in addition to uploading their resume and answering a few pre-set compliance questions.
"In exchange for a bit of added work initially, our HR team made the application process much more transparent to the candidates. We’ve been able to identify and contact qualified candidates much sooner." Anna also mentioned that "a once month-long process shrank down to 6 days". The obvious big part of this was in result of moving the Assessment form in front and to the cloud.
Hiring Manager’s Experience
Another area of the pilot we put our focus on was providing a seamless and collaborative evaluation process for the whole team and stakeholders involved. Data-rich applications required
Cauldron's built-in collaboration features and the scoring system allowed both Recruiters and Hiring Managers to stay in sync, resulting in a drastic reduction of time spent on the hiring manager review.
"On our first cycle, we had 93 complete applications, interviewed 11 candidates, and sent offers to 6 of them. All that in under 14 days"
tells us Lilit, Recruiter at DigitainApplicant’s Experience
Candidate experience is something that's often overlooked in hiring. Legacy hiring forms are always a hassle to fill in, and, coupled with the uncertainty, the whole experience of applying to a job often turns into anxiety for the candidate. Digitain was forward-looking enough to experiment with a new kind of job application process with us.
The biggest change in the process (apart from the looks) is the level of engagement the candidates get for signing up. As an applicant, you get a personalized dashboard that guides you through the process. It displays your progress, where you are in the application process, and what your next steps are.
"Our applicants were mostly positive about the new application flow. We haven't recorded any negative trends during the process" Lilit, Recruiter at Digitain
