USER STORY, DIGITAIN
“Digitain’s screening process,
which used to take up several days
was cut to just a few hours.”

Digitain story dates back to 1999. At that time company started off as a National Lottery, then grew into a B2C Affiliate company becoming a software, platform, and Sportsbook solutions provider in 2004.
Now, Digitain is the leading provider of Omni-channel iGaming software solutions to the online, mobile and land-based verticals. The multi-channel Digitain Gaming Platform allows operators to plug-in sportsbook, casino, live dealer, and virtual sports modules, and includes an integrated payment gateway, bonus engine, CRM system, and dedicated customer support.
Monthly, the sportsbook product covers 35,000 live events each month across 65 sports taking in 7,500 leagues, and more than 3,000 betting markets, while the casino solution has 3,000+ games.
As a software company that also has an affiliated B2C counterpart, Digitain has a never-ending need of talent in various spheres. They are one of the unspoken leaders in the numerous vacancies open simultaneously in the Armenian market.
Due to the organization's effective employer branding campaign of the recent years, Digitain has been a popular choice for many job-seekers looking to join the booming tech industry.
One such popular opportunity is the Customer Support Specialist position, which was chosen to be the first pilot case to use Cauldron. The problem was simple — an all-year open job position with hundreds of application each week and a multi-stage screening process that involved an on-site test and a follow-up interview that needed optimizing.
→ application → resume screening + shortlisting for test → on-site / remote test → interviews → offers.
application with pre-screening assignment → screening applicants → interviews → offers.
Anna, the newly assigned Chief People and Culture Officer, mentioned at our first encounter that they're already hard at work implementing a complex and featureful HR software and she was personally invested in online screening and testing automation.
The fact that we had already thought out a specialized platform that promises to save 90% of their current screening time resulted in an easy sell. We started working on the pilot a few days later.
Our first steps were to recognize how the application pipeline would look like with Cauldron versus how it was then. The biggest time-sink we saw was the on-site assessment, which Cauldron not only could move completely online, but also include it in the initial application, instead of a whole separate screening stage. We called this the "challenge".
Saving time through pre-assessments (challenges)
All candidates are required to complete the test-assessment, in addition to uploading their resume and answering a few pre-defined compliance questions.
"In exchange for a bit of added work initially, our HR team made the application process much more transparent to the candidates and contacted qualified candidates much sooner." Anna also mentioned that "a once several-day process took the recruiting team a few hours this time around". The obvious big part of this was in result to moving the test in front and to the cloud.
Hiring manager experience - interview to good interview ratio
The second point of focus was delivering a seamless and collaborative evaluation process for the recruiting team. Having more information than the standard resume to be evaluated, there's also a need for the Hiring Manager to get involved. With Cauldron's built-in collaborative evaluation form, the recruiter and hiring manager were more in-sync choosing the candidates to shortlist and interview. This resulted in better interview experience for the team.
"On our first cycle, we had 57 complete applications, we interviewed 10 candidates and sent offers to 3 of them. All of that in under 14 days"Lilit, Recruiter at Digitain
Candidate experience is something that's often overlooked in hiring. Black and white hiring forms are always a hassle to fill in, and, coupled with the uncertainty the whole experience of applying to a job often turns into anxiety for the candidate. Digitain was forward-looking enough to experiment a new kind of job application process with us.
The biggest change in the process (apart from the looks) is the level of engagement the candidates get for just signing up. As a new applicant registering for a job — you get access to the main screening assignment, are asked about your preferences relating to the job position and given helpers & pointers to be successful!
"Everyone seemed to understand the application flow and were positive about the changes. There weren’t any major issues when applying." ~ Lilit, Recruiter at Digitain
